October Retail Sales Rise More Than Forecast

Retail sales climbed 1.2 percent, during the month of October, the strongest showing since March.

Strong auto sales were responsible for the majority of the increase. Auto makers showed  a 5 percent gain, selling 12.2 million vehicles, the best since August 2009.

Americans are shopping again. As consumer confidence returns, I am hopeful that small businesses will begin to expand and hire new workers.
