"It's just unbelievable how much response we've had. Almost more than we could handle," he says. "All retirees. And they all get paid the same. ... Nothing."They get paid nothing to create what are called PETs, short for Personal Energy Transportation, a hand-powered tricycle wagon designed for the disabled in the developing world.
"Those people would be just put away in a closet or bed somewhere, because it was deemed if you were disabled that you were cursed," Bruxvoort says. "That really touched my heart, and I thought, you know, there's something we should do about that."read more
