Consumer Bureau targets student loan abuses

Attention, current and former college students: If you or your loved ones have borrowed -- or tried to -- to finance your education, Richard Cordray wants to hear from you.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, is now accepting complaints from students and their loved ones about the difficulties of obtaining and repaying college loans, according to a press release issued today. As part of its mandate, the CFPB wants to help borrowers who have struggled to get a private student loan, have had problems eliminating the debt or had difficulties managing a school loan that has gone into default or into collection.

GM adds natural-gas option to big heavy-duty pickups

General Motors is announcing today that it will make 2013 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 HD extended cab pickups that can run on both natural gas and gasoline. Best of all, owners can easily switch between the two. The trucks use a Vortec 6-liter V-8 engine that seamlessly transitions between compressed natural gas and gasoline fuel systems.
"The bi-fuel Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra provide customers with choices in advanced propulsion technology, and because CNG is a clean-burning, domestically produced fuel, it has wide appeal," said Ed Peper, general manager of GM Fleet and Commercial Operations.
