The Top 12 House Votes Against the Middle Class

Conservative Leaders Put the 1 Percent Before the 99 Percent Time and Again

Introduction
A detailed examination of the votes cast in the House of Representatives during the first session of the 112th Congress reveals that the conservative leadership of the chamber and their backbench Tea Party firebrands voted 279 times against the interests of American middle-class families. But so far we are encouraged by the care Fannie Mae is taking in screening potential participants given the impact this program will have in affected communities.

Certainly the president got it right yesterday. "We're working to turn more foreclosed homes into rental housing,” the president said, adding, “Because as a lot of families know, that empty house or for sale sign down the block can bring down prices for an entire neighborhood.”

The White House Office of Management and Budget has begun vetting upcoming Interior Department rules that will toughen regulation of the controversial natural-gas drilling method called hydraulic fracturing.

The Interior rules will require disclosure of the components used in fracking fluids, as well as provisions governing management of large volumes of “flowback” water from drilling sites and measures to ensure wellbore integrity.
