Venture For America Wants To Create 100,000 New Jobs By Matching College Grads With Startups

Andrew Yang wants to create jobs. Specifically, 100,000 U.S. jobs by 2025. It’s an ambitious goal, but one that Yang believes is completely attainable just by getting recent college graduates to work at startups rather than take positions in finance, consulting, and law. But not just any startups: Yang wants to recruit young talent to ignite entrepreneurial sparks in such economically depressed areas as Detroit; Providence, Rhode Island; and New Orleans.

Congress is stepping in to rein in pay at Fannie and Freddie, while the market is dictating lower payouts at Wall Street firms. Score one for Occupy Wall Street?

On Tuesday, the House Financial Services Committee approved legislation that would end Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac executive compensation packages worth tens of millions of dollars. It would also suspend future bonuses and align their salaries with other federal employees who make much less. The Senate is expected to take up similar measures limiting pay at the bailed-out firms and legislation is expected to be ready for the President's signature by the end of this year.

Boeing keeps new jet at Pacific Northwest plants

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Boeing and its machinists' union have reached a deal to build the next generation of its workhorse 737 jet at union-represented plants in the Pacific Northwest.

In return for the decision that will keep thousands of its members in Washington and Oregon on the job, the International Association of Machinists is giving the jet maker an early contract extension.
