25-acre solar roof to be built in New Jersey

SunPower followed up its recent launch of the most efficient mass-produced solar cell in the world with an announcement that it will soon start construction of the biggest solar roof in North America. SunPower has entered into a contract for a 1.1 million square-foot solar installation atop the Gloucester Marine Terminal in Gloucester, N.J. The company's primary competitors include First Solar, Suntech Power and China-based Yingli Green Energy Holding Company.

Stimulus: Port of Miami Intermodal & Rail Reconnection Project: jobs now, economic benefits for decades to come

At DOT, we're investing in projects that put Americans back to work and contribute to our long-term prosperity while once again making this nation’s transportation system the envy of the world.

And on Friday, I was pleased to join US Senator Bill Nelson, Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez, and other state and local leaders to break ground on the Port of Miami Intermodal and Rail Reconnection Project. This long-awaited venture, supported by DOT’s TIGER program, is exactly the kind of innovative project that will create jobs today while preparing South Florida to seize tomorrow's economic opportunities.
