Sasha and Malia do their homework, congress needs to do their job.


We cannot discriminate as a country against people on the basis of sexual orientation



We have done exactly what I said we would do. We have not put any boots on the ground.



Are Republicans willing to compromise their kids’ safety so that some corporate jet owner continues to get a tax break.


Everybody else has done the tough things, Republicans need to make a deal.



My expectation is that leaders are going to lead

We can’t get to the $4 trillion in cuts with Domestic spending or Medicare cuts, we need to address tax code



Get rid of are tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires; tax breaks for oil companies and hedge fund managers and corporate jet owners

Food Bank Shortages Lead To Innovation

Food banks around the country are trying to keep their shelves stocked as more people in the U.S. struggle to get enough to eat. Increasingly, that means finding new ways to salvage food that would otherwise go to waste.

One innovation is being tested at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee. In a back room at the food bank's warehouse in Gray, Tenn., dented and crushed cans containing everything from green beans to beets are piled high on a counter.

Wind turbines for home use are big sellers

A growing number of people are investing in small electricity generating wind turbines for residential use, despite the bad economy, and backers of wind power say they expect advances in technology and manufacturing to make them even more popular.

Nearly 10,000 units were sold nationally in 2009, the latest available data, according to the American Wind Energy Association. In 2001, only 2,100 units were sold.
