Grand Canyon National Park, managed by the Department of Interior’s National Park Service, is using about $18 million in Recovery funds for 15 projects, ranging from preserving trails to making park facilities more energy efficient. Intended beneficiaries include not only sight-seers and hikers, but also a Native American tribe living on Grand Canyon National Park land.
WASHINGTON – Americans are finally getting some relief from high gas and food prices.
Wholesale food prices fell last month by the most in nearly a year, and gas prices keep dropping after peaking in May. A separate survey suggests CEOs are feeling more optimistic and will hire more in the second half of this year.
Siemens AG, Europe’s largest engineering company, is willing to provide financing for the first U.S. offshore-wind farm even though the Energy Department has delayed support, the company’s chief financial officer said.
“We’ve always made it clear that we are not only willing but also capable of helping to support the whole project,” Josef Kaeser said in an interview in Washington today.
