Stiumulus: Dept. of Energy Helps Philadelpia Save $$ / Create Jobs / Save Energy

Last week President Obama traveled to the Philadelphia area to hold a town hall event with employees at Gamesa Technology Corporation, a manufacturer of large-scale wind turbines, and to further discuss the U.S. energy future. As he drove through town, the traffic lights were being given a makeover so that they would become more energy efficient.  This project is funded by U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants. The City will be rewarded for its energy efficiency efforts with an estimate $3 million payment from the PECO Smart Ideas program.

Obama: The Country We Believe In: Improving America’s Fiscal Future

On April 13th the President delivered a speech on the budget which discussed how we could reduce the deficit, keep our commitment to programs like Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, end tax cuts for the wealthy, and reduce our Defense budget.
