VP Biden: One Year of the Affordable Care Act: We’ve Come a Long Way

This year, Vice President Biden has recorded a new video looking at the work to pass reform and how the law is already helping the American people.

Passing the law wasn’t easy, but we knew that we were working to end the worst insurance company abuses and give Americans more freedom and control over their health care choices. And the law that is one year old today is already making the health care system better for millions of Americans. Thanks to the new law millions of Americans are already enjoying:

Voices of Health Reform: Violet’s Story

Violet lives with her mom Julie and dad Matt in California. In her two short years of life, Violet has experienced thousands of seizures because of a life threatening form of epilepsy that often results in trips to the pediatric intensive care unit. These trips can cost upwards of $250,000; which Julie’s insurance pays, for the most part. Passing the Affordable Care Act guaranteed that Violet will continue to receive care because it eliminated life time limits. Violet would have hit her limit at the young age of four.
