Voices of Reform in Egypt :: Jasmine

Jasmine keeps a notebook on her at all times, the lines filled with new English words that she writes every day. Each word is written at least three times in succession. A Cairo University graduate, she plans to work in law and currently interns at the Center for Egyptian Women's Legal Assistance. She deems herself an activist, but really, she says, she's "just an Egyptian with a vision."

Soldiers Trade Their Swords for Plows

There are several programs which provide opportunities for veterans to transition into organic gardening, today I feature the work of Archi's Acres in San Diego, California. This makes sense on so many levels. The hard work and dedication required by soldiers applies to farming, many soldiers came from small towns where Agriculture dominated the economy, and working outdoors, with the earth, can help soldiers  heal.  Archi’s Acres works with soldier's from Camp Pendelton to give soldier's the skills they need to become successful organic farmers. Their video is encouraging and inspiring.
