Payroll Tax Cuts Kick in

Less than a month after President Obama signed the tax cut compromise, millions of American workers are already seeing the impact show up in their paychecks from the payroll tax cut.

To get a sense of how this will affect individual working people, the Treasury Department also put together a few hypothetical examples:

Panera opens 3rd pay-what-you-wish store in Oregon

Panera Bread has opened it's third non profit restaurant. Customers have 3 choices: pay nothing, pay the suggested price, or pay more than the recommended price.
"In some ways it is a test for humanity," said Ron Shaich, founder of Panera who launched the concept for the company. "Will people step up and help each other or will they take advantage? So far, people have stepped up. Panera said about 20% of the visitors to the cafes leave more than the suggested amount, 20% leave less and 60% pay what is suggested."
