PANAMA CITY — A rebate program to encourage residents to buy energy-efficient appliances in April boosted sales across the state and locally.

“We had more business in the two days that it started than we’ve had in one month of more than 60 years of business,” The Appliance Center owner Bob Hurst said. “We’ve just been slammed with orders and deliveries. Because of that, we really did well.”
