The University of Central Florida's College of Medicine has been awarded more than $7 million to build a regional electronic medical-records system that promises to make health care more efficient and less costly.
The awards, funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, will help develop the emerging health information-technology industry, which is expected to support tens of thousands of jobs ranging from nurses and pharmacy techs to IT technicians and trainers.
